It's Time For Public Speaking!

🤩🎤 Hold onto your speaking hats because when we return for Trimester 2, it's time for none other than Public Speaking! 🎤🤩

Brought to you by the fantastic SFK Representative Team, this event is all about unleashing your verbal prowess through prepared and impromptu speech.

💚 Who: All On-Campus UNE Students
When: Monday 28th July, 6:30 pm –
📍 Where: The Bistro, UNE

Event Rules:

👉 Prepared Speakers will be given a set list of topics and must choose one to base their speech on.
👉 They should aim to speak for 5 minutes, with warning bells at 4, 4.5, and 5 minutes.
👉 Impromptu Speakers will receive their topic on the night and have 1 minute to prepare.
👉 They should aim to speak for 2 minutes, with warning bells at 1.5, 2, and 2.5 minutes.

Judging Criteria:

20% Speech Development (Structure, Organisation, Support Material)
15% Effectiveness (Achieved Purpose, Interest, Reception)
15% Speech Value (Ideas, Logic, Original Thought)
10% Physical (Appearance, Body Language)
10% Voice (Flexibility, Volume)
10% Manner (Directness, Assurance, Enthusiasm)
10% Appropriateness (To Speech Purpose & Audience)
10% Correctness (Grammar, Pronunciation, Word Selection)
