Explaining the Aggro

This public lecture is free and open to the wider community as well as students and staff.

In this lecture, Professor Rob White will examine biological, psychological and cultural dimensions of male violence. Being ‘aggro’ and the attractions of violence are discussed from the point of view of biological drivers, cultural norms and social contexts. Violence is fun, violence is scary, violence is legitimate, violence is bad. Professor White explores some of the key dynamics of this complex phenomenon.

About Rob:

Rob White is Professor of Criminology at the University of New England. He has written extensively in the areas of criminology, youth studies, and eco-justice. Among his recent books are Crime & Criminology, Theorising Green Criminology, and the Elgar Encyclopedia of Environmental Crime.
