Climate Change Criminology

This public lecture is free and open to the wider community as well as students and staff.

In this lecture, Professor Rob White will outline the main concerns of climate change criminology, which deals with the connections between global warming, criminality, and crime. Earth’s future is being forged in the crucible of climate disruption and extreme weather events. For the institutions of criminal justice, the challenges are also immense and growing. Innovative thinking and proactive policies are needed to prepare for the calamities rapidly unfolding before us.

This lecture will be presented in person at the Oorala Aboriginal Centre as well as online via Zoom.

About Rob:

Rob White is Professor of Criminology at the University of New England. He has written extensively in the areas of criminology, youth studies, and eco-justice. Among his recent books are Climate Change Criminology, Advanced Introduction to Applied Green Criminology, and the Elgar Encyclopedia of Environmental Crime.
