IFAMA Agribusiness Study Program 2020

World Conference and Student Case Competition, Holland, Belgium and Northern France

Trimester 1

Approximate Tour Dates: 11 - 26 June, 2020 (to be confirmed)

Undergraduate and postgraduate students have an exciting opportunity to participate in an agribusiness study program of Holland, Belgium and Northern France which includes attending the 2020 International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) Annual World Symposium and Forum in Rotterdam, Holland. The IFAMA World Conference IFAMA connects current and future business, academic, government leaders and other industry stakeholders in a forum of interactive presentations and discussions of critical issues facing the global food and agribusiness system. The IFAMA conference provides students with an appreciation and understanding of these issues and offers opportunities for professional development and establishing global networks.

A number of participating students will have the opportunity to represent UNE in the (IFAMA) Student Case Competition. The IFAMA Student Case Study Competition brings together students from around the world and requires teams to work through a complex case study in four hours. Teams receive a real-world challenge, develop a creative, practical solution, and build a presentation that communicates their perspective, analyses and recommendations to a panel of judges.  UNE were winners of this competition in the Undergraduate Division in 2017 and in the Intermediate Division in 2018 and the Undergraduate and Young Professionals Divisions in 2019.

Agribusiness will be at the forefront of the Study Program. Students will explore food production systems through organised visits and get to experience much of the cultural diversity and spectacular landscapes of Northern Europe

The Study Program will be undertaken as part of either OSSE300 or OSSE500 (Overseas Study Experience).

Students interested in participating in the 2020 IFAMA Agribusiness Study Program can direct enquiries to Associate Professor Stuart Mounter.
