The Science Experience supported by ConocoPhillips and Santos

Venue: The University of New England, Armidale NSW

Date: 12th – 14th January 2020, inclusive

Cost: Registration plus $65/night for accommodation and all meals

The Science Experience at the University of New England, Armidale, is an all-round university experience.

You can immerse yourself in a world of science across disciplines in a program filled with hands-on activities including forensic investigations, agricultural and ecological science, coding, sausage making, medical science, sports and exercise science, and more!

Students have an opportunity to interact with, and ask questions of scientists from industry, academia, consulting and government in a career panel discussion that focuses on the changing job market in science and helping students identify their passions and interests in science.

Supervised accommodation is available in one of the University's residential colleges at a cost of only $65/night including breakfast, lunch and dinner for each night. Students are encouraged to stay on campus to get the most from The Experience. We hold a hotly contested trivia night, channel our inner sports star at our premier sports facility, SportUNE, and visit a local nature reserve for dinner and team bonding.

Many of our past program attendees have been successful in obtaining Rotary Scholarships for The Experience. We encourage students to seek funding to cover registration costs - contact your local Rotary Club and discuss your motivation for attending The Science Experience today.

In addition to this, UNE Discovery will be offering two all-expenses paid scholarships for low-SES students who wish to attend the program. If you are interested in applying for these scholarships, please contact Kirsti at with your students name, school, low-SES postcode and short statement supporting the application.
