Choice and Flexibility

UNE offers a range of unique and flexible study pathways. You will learn about air, soil, water, plants and wildlife and develop skills in the field and laboratory to solve real world problems. You can develop your own personalised learning program designing your degree to match your interests.

The 3 year Bachelor of Environmental Science allows a wide choice of electives and study areas but also 4 new majors for specialism - Conservation Ecology, Envirobusiness, Natural Resource Management or Remediation and Restoration. Alternatively you may combine with Bachelor of Laws for a career in environmental sciences and law.  There are options to switch between programs to ensure you are studying the area that most suits you.

For students wanting more you can progress to our Honours and Masters programs. With both on campus and online study UNE has a course to meet your career goals and suit your lifestyle.

Location and Landscapes

UNE sits in the heart of the New England of NSW surrounded by unique and beautiful landscapes and ecosystems. Students get hands on practical experience and easy access to the arid deserts to the west, the semi-tropical rainforests to the east or the coastal environments at Coffs Harbour.

You may also travel overseas to study, for example, wildlife conservation in Botswana or ecology in Bhutan. You will have a choice to work with industry or a business partner with our work experience and research projects offerings so you leave here job ready.
