Paper and Cardboard Recycling
Paper and Cardboard recycling at UNE is run by Ascent, a prominent community based Disability Service Provider located in Armidale. They specialise in providing individual, ethical and effective support for people with disabilities, their families and carers. Ascent collects paper and cardboard from around both the Academic and Residential Campuses. The paper and cardboard products they collect are sent to recyclers where they eventually get turned into cardboard packaging.
Paper recycling bins can be identified by BLUE lids or decals. The following items can be place in designated paper bins;
- Office paper
- Envelopes and manilla folders
- Newspaper, magazines and small books
- Light cardboard
Cardboard collection cages are provided at various locations around campus. Staff will need to take all cardboard down to these cages for collection by Ascent. To make things easier, please ensure that all cardboard boxes are flattened before they are put into the cage. This will ensure the maximum amount of cardboard will fit into the cage.
