Study With Us

We offer flexible learning environments

We are one of the leading providers of off-campus education to students all around the world. The University of New England has been a pioneer and leader in the provision of high quality distance education since it's inception as a college of the University of Sydney in 1938, followed by UNE becoming an independent University in 1954.

Our courses are rated highly in graduate satisfaction with students benefiting from small class sizes and an excellent student-to-staff ratio.

Our staff, experienced in both on- and off-campus modes of course delivery, are driven by research and informed by practice, resulting in courses that are constantly changing to meet the needs of the real world and maintaining their relevancy in a wide variety of organisations to enhance your employment and promotion prospects.

Study areas

Browse areas of interest including sustainability, commerce, management, leadership, economics, finance, agribusiness, agricultural and resource economics, and regional development.

What you need for your study

To successfully complete your studies, basic maths abilities are required although you do not have to have completed Years 11 and 12 Maths at high school. Students will need knowledge of the following areas: percentages, fractions, order of operations, basic algebra and logarithms.

UNE's Academic Skills Office (ASO) holds short university preparation online courses in Maths called 'tUNEupMaths' from home. You will need to book/register for this short course. Find out more information about tUNEup.

There are also many open access internet resources available for students to refresh their knowledge in these areas, such as:

Also, students will need to use an electronic calculator from the UNE approved list.

Postgraduate support

Doctoral and Masters students have the support of experienced research supervisors to provide support in research training, knowledge transfer and innovation. Our aim is to produce a high level of original research outputs within the various discipline areas.

A number of scholarships as well as the Commonwealth Government's Research Training Scheme (which offers fee exemptions for eligible students) are further opportunities available to support you in your research endeavours.

Advanced standing pathways

If you have completed a relevant Diploma or Advanced Diploma from TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) you may find that your studies are recognised for advanced standing for your chosen course at UNE. This can significantly shorten the length of your UNE course as we build on your previous TAFE/RTO skills and knowledge.

Please see our list of approved Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas that provide a pathway to our courses.

Regardless of your entry level to our wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses we hope that you will join us in the UNE Business School and continue to return to us for further studies throughout your professional and lifelong learning.

Five star rating for student satisfaction

The UNE Business School is nationally and internationally renowned for its high teaching standards and flexible learning environments. Our on-campus courses offer small class sizes with an excellent student to staff ratio.
