UNE’s postgraduate Health Management degrees equip you with the knowledge and skills to:

The profession of health management covers a broad range of leadership and management appointments that continue to expand with the growth and demands of the healthcare sector. At UNE, our postgraduate students come from a range of disciplinary backgrounds in health and social care including nursing, social work, medicine, community development and human services work, business, human resources and information systems.

UNE Health Management graduates are prepared for senior and middle management roles within the public, private and not for profit health, aged care and community care sectors. UNE is fortunate to have academic staff at the School of Health with a variety of experience of value to health managers. Their research is at the cutting edge of contemporary health management, both locally and internationally.

Health Management Internship Program

The Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) provides a prestigious two-year Health Management Internship Program (HMIP). This offers high-potential Interns the opportunity to develop the skills, competencies and knowledge required to start a career in managing the challenges and complexities of health service delivery. Throughout the two years of the program, Management Interns are exposed to a variety of different workplace and educational opportunities. As of 2018, the ACHSM has selected the UNE Master of Health Management course as the program that the interns will be enrolled in.

Research Degrees

Both the Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy are offered by the School of Health. Candidates can undertake research in an area related to health management under the supervision of our knowledgeable research supervisors.
