WORK500 for postgraduate studies
WORK500 is a structured unit that can be counted towards your undergraduate study. You must have completed a minimum of 12 credit points of your current award to be eligible to enrol.
You will need to check if the unit can be part of your studies by checking your course program. Some courses are unable to accommodate the unit.
This unit enables you to develop your practical skills in relation to the theory that you have been studying and then apply this new learning to an assessment task. You must complete a minimum of 120 hours of recorded professional activity (work placement) with a host employer and an individual assessment task that will be negotiated with your academic supervisor.
This assessment task may include one or a combination of, but not limited to:
- A written report
- A reflective journal/work diary
- Copies of completed work reports or documents completed whilst on placement
- Details of projects worked on or which you contributed to
- Details of any field trips or conferences attended
- Reports on experiments conducted or observed
- A portfolio or e-portfolio
- Oral presentation to academic or student group
- Media presentation including photos, videos or use of social media
It is your responsibility to find a host employer and an academic that would be happy to supervise you with your academic assessment task as part of your studies.
This employer must be within Australia. No overseas placements will be approved.
There will be no advanced standing for this unit.
