Research and Consultancy Agreements

All Research and Consultancy Agreements must be sent to the Contracts Officer for checking and processing for signature.
After the Director Legal Services has approved the Agreement, the Contracts Officer will arrange for UNE to sign the Agreement.
Agreements can only be signed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) or the authorised delegate (see item 5 of the Schedule of Financial Delegations)
When the Agreement is in final form, an Authority to Sign Agreement Form must be completed and signed by the project officer, their Head of School and PVC Dean and sent to the Contracts Officer.
The Authority to Sign Agreement Form is an instruction to the Legal Office that an Agreement has School and Faculty or Directorate approval and is ready to be signed by UNE. It is a risk management procedure to make sure UNE does not sign unapproved, draft or incorrect Agreements.
The Contracts Officer will arrange for the other party to sign the Agreement.
When the Agreement is signed by both parties the Contracts Officer will TRIM the Agreement and provide a copy to the project officer and other party.
The Contracts Officer will send the RMO file to Financial Services Directorate to open an account and invoice the other party if required.
