Other Agreements

Main Header Image

The Legal Office has developed specialised agreements to deal with:

  • advanced standing;
  • undergraduate teaching;
  • cross-institutional enrolment;
  • student and staff exchange;
  • staff benefits;
  • intellectual property.

The Legal Office negotiates:

  • key clauses such as intellectual property, indemnities and termination;
  • with essential participants the proposed structure, incorporation documents and participants’ agreements in relation to CRCs where UNE is a participant.

All agreements must be sent to the Contracts Officer for processing before signature.

After the Director Legal Services has approved the agreement, the Contracts Officer will arrange for UNE to sign the agreement.

When the agreement is in final form, an Authority to Sign Agreement Form must be completed and signed by the project officer, their Head of School and PVC Dean and sent to the Contracts Officer.

The Authority to Sign Agreement Form is an instruction to the Legal Office that an Agreement has School and Faculty or Directorate approval and is ready to be signed by UNE. It is a risk management procedure to make sure UNE does not sign unapproved, draft or incorrect agreements.

Agreements can only be signed by the authorised delegate (see item 5 of the Schedule of Financial Delegations)

The Contracts Officer will arrange for the other party to sign the agreement.

When the agreement is signed by both parties the Contracts Officer will TRIM the agreement and provide a copy to the project officer and other party.
