MOUs

MOUs are non-legally binding agreements between UNE and other Australian and overseas organisations. Please see the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Procedure.
Please contact the Contracts Officer to provide information for the drafting of the MOU by the Legal Office.
All MOUs must be sent to the Contracts Officer for processing before signature.
After the Director Legal Services has approved the MOU, the Contracts Officer will arrange for UNE to sign the MOU.
MOUs can only be signed by the Vice Chancellor.
When the MOU is in final form, an Authority to Sign Agreement Form must be completed and signed by the project officer, their Head of School and PVC Dean and sent to the Contracts Officer.
The Authority to Sign Agreement Form is an instruction to the Legal Office that a MOU has School and Faculty or Directorate approval and is ready to be signed by UNE. It is a risk management procedure to make sure UNE does not sign unapproved, draft or incorrect MOUs
The Contracts Officer will arrange for the other party to sign the MOU.
When the MOU is signed by both parties the Contracts Officer will TRIM the MOU and provide a copy to the project officer and other party.
