Core Standards
All material published as official UNEWeb pages MUST:
- provide current information which maintains a professional standard and is compatible with the mission and role of the university;
- UNE Council permission has to be sought to use the UNE Coat of Arms.
- satisfy copyright requirements; no material is to be placed on a web page without the written permission of the copyright owner and records of the permissions are to be filed. Pictures or videos of people must not be placed on pages without their permission.
- follow the folder and file naming conventions in these guidelines
NB: the following additional requirements will be met by the UNEweb Content Management System (CMS), if the pages are managed within the CMS. If the pages in question are not currently in the CMS, the instructions in brackets must be followed.
- acknowledge the University of New England by stating the name of the University both in the header of the page and in the title of the document.
- carry the simplified University logo at the top left-hand corner of the page.

Only the official electronic versions of the UNE logo, symbol or crest are to be employed and must not be changed or modified in any manner. - display a link back to the UNE Home Page (http://www.une.edu.au/).
- display the name and title of the person responsible for maintaining the content of the page and a link to his/her e-mail addres [this should appear in the footer]
- display the date the material was last modified [this should appear in the footer]
- material sourced from within UNE should display the following copyright statement:
(c) [year] University of New England.
Title Metadata
All official UNEweb pages should include title metadata as follows:
UNE – Faculty/School/area name followed by the content name.
(The UNEweb CMS will add the 'UNE' automatically.)
Eg UNE – School of Law, Members of Staff.
Footers
The standard footer for official UNEweb pages should be displayed as appears at the bottom of this page. It includes:
- UNE's CRICOS Provider Number and ABN
- Date last published (this may also be date last updated)
- Copyright information (© UNE), where the copyright symbol © is linked to

Spelling
Use the Macquarie Dictionary as your standard reference.
Titles
The full academic title should be used (eg Professor John Smith).
When used in a list or directory format, the preferred option is the approved abbreviation. For example, Prof John Smith.
Phone Numbers
The correct format for all phone and fax numbers is:

Dates
Spell the month out in full. There is no punctuation between the month and year:
6 February 2002
Times
Use the 12-hour clock system, leave a space between the last figure and 'am' or 'pm'. 9.00 - 3.30 pm.
Addresses
Use commas to separate parts of the address except between the state and postcode:
