About the club
The U.N.E.M.C. (pronounced UNI-MUCK) is an affiliated club of Sport UNE. Although no one here can remember back that far, historical documents indicate the club was formed way back in 1960. Since this time, activities of the club have ranged from Hang gliding to Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Ski-Touring (now a separate club), Bushwalking, Climbing, Caving, Canoeing and Canyoning.
Current interests are restricted mainly to Walking, Climbing, Caving, Mountain Biking and Canoeing, with the rugged country and the extensive National Parks surrounding Armidale being an ideal location for our activities.
Details of club trips are posted on the Sports UNE notice boards or you can contact the various activity coordinatrors. People of any experience level are welcome and encouraged to join in club activities.
Tuesday and thursday nights are club nights at the UNEMC Climbing wall, out back of the Sports Union among the squash courts. From 6:00 until we've had enough this is a cheap evening for members, and a time when you can get your wall accreditation.
