Academic Staff Development

The Academic Development Team works with academic and general staff involved in teaching across the University.

Current academic staff development priorities

The Academic Development Team provides professional development support through:

Support for the development of the academic teaching role

• Induction and orientation
• Advice and guidance for the development of teaching portfolios
• Evaluation of units and teaching

Formal workshops

• Professional Development Program
• Workshops on request to address identified needs

Graduate Certificate in Higher Education

Curriculum Support

• assisting groups with the conceptualisation, development, implementation and evaluation, review and renewal of units and courses

Evaluation and Review of units and teaching

• Administering the University evaluation of teaching performance and evaluation of units scheme
• Provision of support and guidance for the development of overall evaluation strategies (for units and courses)
• Assistance with making sense of data collected through a variety of means, including Teaching Performance data and Unit Evaluation data in order to identify issues emerging from the data and plan for addressing those issues (‘closing the loop’).
