Moving onAs you can see, referencing is a complicated procedure. Because there are so many new rules to learn, it can often seem very daunting at first. Have patience and practise with easy examples first, always checking your own references with the examples here or in the UNE Referencing Guide. Gradually you will begin to understand the process and it will seem much easier. Remember that the main reason for referencing is to enable your readers to find the same information for themselves; thus a clear system that is accurately followed is very important. Our next section, Writing Conventions, presents another set of rules. However, you will probably find this section much easier as you know and use many of these rules already. |
