Detecting Plagiarism

There are a range of strategies to help detect plagiarism.

One strategy is to use software tools such as TurnItIn or MyDropBox. These compare a student’s paper to web-based resources and return a ‘rate of plagiarism’ which can be used to counsel and help the student.

A second strategy is to play ‘plagiarism detective’. A recent example is available for you to see how you might manage a case of suspected plagiarism.
