Science Education

You could become a science teacher...

While studying at UNE to become a science teacher, you will participate in a course that combines active and meaningful learning with science and technology, real-life phenomena and important social and environmental issues.

Our courses equip you to teach science and technology in a way that will inspire in your students an interest and heightened appreciation of the world. As developing teachers, we encourage you to be confident and creative in your approach to science and technology education.

Our academic research into science learning and science in relation to education for sustainability directly informs our education programs.

Off-campus: we have an outstanding external study program—80% of our student body studies externally. We provide online support for external programs, including podcasts and discussion forums.

On-campus: on-campus courses offer face-to-face interaction with staff and students in stimulating workshops and seminars related to teaching science and technology.
