- It is school-based and uses workplace learning as the major focus.

- It is compatible with and linked to professional development activities undertaken by school authorities such as the various State Departments of Education , the catholic Schools Office and professional accreditation bodies. This implies that recognition is given to prior and workplace learning.
Why Study School Leadership at UNE?
The Master of Education (School Leadership) is structured around new units developed to reflect the leadership frameworks operating in most Australian states. There is a core of four newly developed courses although advanced standing may be awarded for the completion of similar courses at other institutions or through professional development programs from the various education systems. A range of optional courses is available to meet specific needs while a workplace professional experience project rounds off the program. The combination of the above makes the Master of Education (School Leadership) a unique program.
