Supporting Documents

Some courses require you to provide documentary evidence, auditions or interviews to support your application. These requirements vary from course to course.

Where required, you will be asked to provide copies of certificates and transcripts or other relevant documentation, such as employers' letters, in order to establish your eligibility.

Requirements for specific courses

Cross-institutional study

You can study a unit offered at UNE to count towards your degree at another university using cross-institutional study. Most units offered at UNE are available to eligible students on a cross-institutional basis. Units undertaken on a cross-institutional basis must count towards the course you are enrolled in at your home university.

Find out about the Regional Universities Network (RUN), a network that formally offers cross-institutional units of study that contribute to a range of different degrees.

ALL cross-institutional applicants must attach a completed UNE Home Provider Endorsement Form to their application.

To ensure that your chosen cross-institutional units meet the UNE prerequisites, you must also attach a copy of an official transcript to show that you meet these prerequisites.

Diploma in Music Skills

Applicants to the Diploma in Music Skills are required to submit a Music Audition. To register for an audition, you must complete and submit the online  Application to Audition Form (this is separate to applying for admission to your course).   If you are unsure of the audition requirements, please visit our Music Audition page. Enquiries about the audition should be directed to music@une.edu.au.

Note:

  • you will be asked to upload your Music Audition Personal Statement to this Application to Audition form
  • you will be able to use the Application to Audition form to apply for a waiver of the audition and to upload supporting documents

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching)

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide a referee report/s from your early childhood employer/s on company letterhead confirming your role, responsibilities and length of employment in the setting, including the number of hours worked per week.

Reports should only relate to the period AFTER the award of your Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent, and referees must NOT be relatives, personal friends or people you supervise.

If you are self-employed as an accredited family day care provider or before and after school carer, you may provide certified copies of your registration papers.

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary)

All Initial Teaching Education Courses require a Personal Statement uploaded into your application for admission. The Personal Statement will need to be uploaded as a personal document. Applicants applying to the Bachelor of Education (In-Service Conversion) under the Music Major require the completion and submission of supplementary documentation including an Audition Form as part of the application process.

Bachelor of Nursing (Alternate Entry)

If applying to the Bachelor of Nursing under the Alternative Entry Pathway, you will be required to provide a Personal Statement addressing 6 questions. You will be prompted to attach this statement when you apply online. Further information on the Alternative Pathway can be found here.

Bachelor of Organisational Leadership

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide two referee reports from employers on company letterhead confirming your role, responsibilities and length of employment at the organisation.

If you are self-employed, these referee reports can be from professionals or business associates, such as your accountant confirming the nature of your business and how long they have been associated with the business.

Bachelor of Training and Development

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide referee report/s from employers on company letterhead confirming your role, responsibilities and length of employment in the organisation, including the number of hours worked per week.

Referees must NOT be relatives, personal friends or people you supervise, and reports must detail your supervisory experience and/or training of others.

If you are self-employed, referee reports can be from professionals or business associates such as your accountant, confirming the nature of your business and how long they have been associated with your business.

Bachelor Honours

All applicants must provide a thesis proposal form as part of the online admissions application process, EXCEPT for Psychology Honours applicants. The type of thesis proposal form will depend on the degree you are applying for:

Honours in the Bachelor of Arts please use the Thesis Proposal form for the appropriate school

Honours in the Bachelor of Social Science, please use the Thesis Proposal form

Honours in the Bachelor of Science, please use the Thesis Proposal form

Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours, please use the Thesis Proposal form

If applying for honours in another degree, please use this Thesis Proposal form.

Bachelor Honours - Psychology only

If applying for the Honours in Psychology in the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Social Science, you will need to refer to the further information about Psychology Fourth Year.

All applicant to these degrees will also need to complete the Self-Assessment Form and uploaded with your application

Additionally, applicants applying Honours in Psychology in the Bachelor of Science will need to complete the thesis proposal form and state the thesis will be completed in Psychology.

Master of Applied Linguistics

Applicants wishing to claim ‘relevant work experience or other relevant qualifications’ must submit a personal statement (approximately 500 words) explain the relevance of their qualifications and work experience to the Master of Applied Linguistics degree.

Teaching experience undertaken without relevant qualifications will not be considered.

Master of Applied Linguistics (TESOL)

Applicants wishing to claim ‘relevant work experience or other relevant qualifications’ must submit a personal statement (approximately 500 words) explain the relevance of their qualifications and work experience to the Master of Applied Linguistics degree.

Teaching experience undertaken without relevant qualifications will not be considered.

Master of Applied Theatre Studies

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide a preliminary research proposal (approximately 500-800 words) which should include the following:

  • describe the proposed creative project for the Master of Applied Theatre Studies
  • include a rationale for the choice of creative work in the context of the overall research project and explain why this is significant; and
  • include a short reference list

Applicants are advised to discuss this proposal with the course coordinator before submission.

Master of Business Administration

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide two referee reports from employers on company letterhead confirming your role, responsibilities and length of employment at the organisation.

If you are self-employed, these referee reports can be from professionals or business associates, such as your accountant confirming the nature of your business and how long they have been associates with the business.

Master of Counselling

If you are applying under the alternate pathway: ‘satisfy the School by means of other relevant qualifications and workplace experience of adequate preparation for candidature’, you are required to upload a personal statement outlining your most significant experiences or professional achievements to date.

Master of Health Management

If you are applying under the alternate pathway: ‘satisfy the School by means of other relevant qualifications and workplace experience of adequate preparation for candidature’, you are required to upload a personal statement outlining your most significant experiences or professional achievements to date.

Master of Nursing

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide a copy of your Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Agency Certificate.
