Research interests
Tom`s primary long term research interest is obstructive ariway diesease and he has conducted research studies into bronchial asthma, obstructive sleep apnoea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. These studies include clinical investigations conducted at major teaching hospitals. In addition, Tom has investigated interactions between the respiratory and cardiovascular systems (the bronchial circulation; circulatory shock during positive pressure ventolation) and how exercise training affects the respiratory system.
