Robert's clinical experience covers a wide range from manufacture of herbal products from extracts to topical preparations. He has operated a herbal practice in Sydney since 1990. Robert has held various lecturing positions with The Australian College of Natural Therapies in Sydney and has held memberships on Federal and State Government Committees. He has an interest in ethnobotanical studies especially Australian medicinal native plants and essential oils, and has worked with a mid coast NSW Aboriginal Land Council in the development of a local essential oil industry.
Robert travels to the Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota, USA every year to study the traditional Lakota use of medicinal herbs with several medicine men.
