My career spans clinical medicine, preventive medicine, public health and health services management. In addition to training in medicine (1984) and public health (1990), I was awarded a PhD in 1998 in Epidemiology & Population Health.
I joined the University of New England in 2000 and was an Associate Professor in School of Health till December 2009. I have been involved with the establishment of the School of Rural Medicine (a partner in the Joint Medical Program with University of Newcastle) since its inception in 2007 and the Deputy Head of School and the Program Convenor for the BMed program at UNE since 2008.
