Rachael Adlington is the Educational Developer within the School of Education.


Employment history

Targeted Graduate position in a small school near Albury. After teaching there from 1999 - 2001, Rachael moved to a large primary school on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, where she taught from 2002 - 2004.

Rachael was an academic at UNE from 2005 - 2009. She lectured in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Education and English and Literacies Education, specialising in online texts, such as blogs and wikis, and new literacies.

 
Professional Experience

Aside from regular classroom teaching, Rachael's school-based experiences include teaching Reading Recovery, music, learning difficulties classes and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Affiliations

Rachael is the web officer for the Australian Literacy Educators' Association Northern NSW Local Council.

Research interests

Rachael's research interests include the nexus between literacy and technology, new and online literacies, multiliteracies and technology for student engagement.
