Associate Professor Hobson has published widely in philosophy and theory of education and professional ethics including the text he wrote jointly with James Bowen, Theories of Education: Studies of Significant Innovation in Western Educational Thought (John Wiley 1974, Revised 1987) which has sold over 20,000 copies. His most recent book is Hobson, P.R. and Edwards, J. S. Religious Education in a Pluralist Society: The Key Philosophical Issues, Woburn Press, London, 1999. He is an editorial consultant for the journals: Educational Philosophy and Theory and Journal of Religious Education.
Currently his main teaching and research interests are in the areas of business and professional ethics, workplace education and organisational learning and philosophy of education.
Peter is a member of the Management group within the School.
