Languages and Specializations

Born in Chile, Massiel is a fluent speaker of Spanish and is a supporter of open source education for teachers teaching Spanish.

Massiel signs basic Auslan and sign English and has worked as IT trainer of students with special needs (deaf and blind) with New England TAFE.

Massiel is also involved with music - guitar and voice training (singing) using Kodaly Methodology.

Employment History

Extensive and varied work history with IT skills and workplace training in private industry.

Former first level and second level support of Computer Help Desk at UNE. Former teacher of IT & Communication for ITAM – Information Technology Arts & Multimedia with New England Institute of TAFE.

2006-2009 Massiel worked in several schools and institutions as a casual teacher specialising in HSIE – Society & Culture and Modern History.

During 2005-2007 worked as a Research Fellow with the SiMMER team at UNE, with the Quicksmart Numeracy & Literacy Program.
