Laurence Tamatea is a member of the Education Contexts Teaching and Research Group (TRG)

Profile 

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian Studies, including Australian History (USQ), and a Masters degree in Australian History (UNE). My PhD research focused upon learner and teacher responses to the curriculum in LOTE (Indonesian) education, incorporating a sociological persepctive into second language education.  I currently teach in the sociology of education and have a research interest in social responses to new technologies.

Research Supervision

My research supervision is principally focused on issues related to education in postcolonial contexts, the critique of neo-liberalsim and social responses to new and cutting edge technologies.
