In the role of Senior Policy Advisor, Jeannet is responsible for providing strategic and high level advice and project management support. 

Jeannet joined the Vice-Chancellor's Unit in October 2008 to assist with University preparations for the 2009 institutional audit by the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA).

She is primarily responsible for managing a number of strategic projects, particularly within the quality assurance space, including:

  • Course Profile Planning - this involves the assessment of all UNE courses on a yearly rolling cycle against quality, viability and strategic metrics through the Course Profile Planning Group.  A key related project is assisting with the development of the load and revenue forecasting model.
  • Course Monitoring - the yearly assessment of all UNE courses against key quality metrics.
  • Unit Monitoring - the assessment of all units each time they are offered against key quality metrics derived from quantitative data and student evaluations
  • the post-audit implementation project which will operationalise the recommendations resulting from the 2009 AUQA Audit process and report back to AUQA on the progress made in implementing the recommendations . 

With a background in natural resource policy, and a particular interest in community engagement in policy formulation she joined the Centre for Higher Education Management & Policy (CHEMP) at UNE in 2005 to take up the position of Research Project Officer.  Here she provided research and project management support on numersous projects including the Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement. Prior to joining CHEMP she was a Research Fellow and PhD candidate at the Centre for Ecologcial Economics and Water Policy Research.  During this time she participated in a number of research projects and consultancies in the area of decision-making in water resource policy.  She completed her Doctoral thesis in 2002 A decision-support framework for participative and integrated river basin management: an application of the triple bottom line.

Also in her role as a board member of the New England Ecotourism Society she was involved in the Waterfall Way Sustainable Tourism project which was an exciting regional development initiative funded by AusIndustry.
