Joe has a range of research interests related to coach learning and behaviour. In particular he is interested in:

  • Motivation within the framework of self-determination theory (SDT)
  • Autonomy-supportive learning environments;
  • Creating positive motivational climates with teams
  • Understanding and developing coaches' work
  • How high performance coaches learn
  • Developing coaching practice.
