Judy Miller has four current major research projects.  All projects are focused on enhancing school-aged childrens’ health.  This is through:  enhancing the nutritional knowledge and behaviours of school-aged children;  devising school-based strategies to effectively enhance moderate to vigorous physical activity of adolescent girls;  and, investigating the change in coordination levels of children as they move from Kindergarten to Year 10.  All projects are being conducted in rural and regional contexts.

Supervision of successful and current Master of Education (Honours) and Doctoral students have aligned projects.  These range from:  effectiveness of ability grouping in secondary physical education;  Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) in the sensorimotor mode of learning;  and, female leaders in rural schools;  effect of the introduction of change in school-based curriculum; and,  pre-service teacher education students’ perceptions of preparedness to teach Physical Education.
