Centre for Behavioural & Physiological Ecology (BPE)
The major aims of the Research Centre for Behavioural and Physiological Ecology are to investigate behavioural and physiological adaptations of Australian animals living in various habitats. It aims to investigate the impact environmental changes, such as climate change and habitat degradation on behavioural and functional adaptations. The Centre integrates aspects of foraging ecology, dispersal patterns, thermal biology and energetics to make predictions of how changes to the current landscape and climate will affect survival.
Members of BPE are: Dr. Nigel Andrew (Zoology), Dr. Stuart Cairns (Zoology), E/Prof. Hugh Ford (Zoology), Prof. Fritz Geiser, Director (Zoology), Dr. Gerhard Körtner, VC Postdoctoral Fellow (Zoology), Dr. Tommy Leung (Zoology), Dr. Bronwyn McAllan (University of Sydney), Dr. Paul McDonald (Zoology), Dr. John Paterson (Earth Sciences), Dr. Karl Vernes (Ecosystem Management), and several Associate Members.
