I was the first PhD in theoretical Physics from Monash University and, after several years at Bristol University, came to the University of New England in 1968. Armidale was instantly recognised as a superb place to live, especially combined with periods of study leave at Warwick University, Cornell University, Northern Illinois University and Oxford University.
I retired in 2000 but research and other work in Physics is continuing.
My son David is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA, U.S.A.
