Areas of Teaching

I am unit coordinator for the units Genomic Analysis and Bioinformatics (BINF350 and BINF550), Population and Conservation Genetics (GENE322), Introduction to Breeding and Genetics (GENE251 and GENE351) and a postgraduate reading unit in Genetics (GENE500). I also contribute lectures to Introductory Genetics (GENE210) and Genetic Evaluation and Breeding Program Design (GENE422 and GENE522).

Research interests

My research interests can be grouped into three main themes

  • Evolutionary Computation and Artificial Life for optimization of biological problems
  • Computational methods and statistical analysis of high-throughput genomic data
  • Evolution, diversity and population genetics
