David Christie

Biography

Since 1995 David has worked as full-time Radiation Oncologist for Genesiscare (GC, formerly known as the East Coast Cancer Centre, ECCC and then Premion) in their Tugun branch on the Gold Coast. The centre sees around 1000 new patients per year and is equipped with modern planning and treatment facilities including computer and CT-assisted planning and Linear Accelerators. Since 2008 David has also attended the Southport branch, also on the Gold Coast. David has worked with UNE staff and staff from other universities to undertake a range of research projects, particularly addressing psychosocial issues affecting prostate cancer patients. David also represents the Qld branch of GC on the Clinical Leaders Forum, a national committee that addresses clinical issues. David instigated and currently chairs the GC National Oncology Research Committee which fosters research across the organisation. He is a member of the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group and is the radiation oncology editor for JMIRO, a radiation oncology medical journal.
