Biography
Dr Susan O'Loughlin is a part-time lecturer and clinical skills tutor with the School of Rural Medicine. Her teaching areas include Signs and Symptoms of Psychological Disorder; Diagnosis and Classification of Mental Illness; Loss and Grief; Principles of Palliative Care; Parenting a child with disabilities. Susan's tutoring areas include Core Communication Skills, Sexuality Counselling Skills and Psychiatry Clinical Skills.
Susan is also an Adjunct in the School of Health UNE where she supervises PhD and Masters students. She also practises as a Registered Psychologist, and has been in private practice for the past 25 years.Susan has five adult children and two grandchildren. She is also a carer for her husband, following his stroke in 2011.
