Biography

Emma has previously worked at CSIRO Livestock Industries, involved in a National extension project with AWI to increase awareness of ASBV's and selection for worm resistance in Merinos. Her PhD research on the physiological responses of resistant sheep to internal parasites has been published in three Veterinary parasitology journal articles, investigating the mechanisms of resistance and resilience in Merino sheep.

Emma's role at UNE is funded by the Australian Wool Education Trust (AWET), which supports the sheep and wool units offered at UNE. These specialised wool units are the only of their kind in Australia and are studied by students from 10 other Universities as well as UNE. AWET also offers wool scholarships partly funded by AWET and wool industry bodies. Emma is also the wool scholarships coordinator.Emma is a passionate "wooly" and is pleased to be part of the Australian sheep industry.
