David has worked in tertiary teaching at CSU, Lincoln University in New Zealand and UNSW. He was the Education Program Leader in the Sheep CRC from 2003-2007.

He is working with Sapien Technology to develop bin systems for the controlled feeding of individual cattle and sheep.

David is an Honorary Principal Fellow in the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Melbourne. He may also be reached via email at

After working in Dublin with UCD colleagues up until May 31, David retired from UNE on June 5 2017. He continues to be available to co-supervise postgraduates and undertakes consultancy work.
