Biography

Stuart is an Associate Professor at the UNE Business School and researches and teaches in the areas of agricultural economics and agribusiness. He is an applied economist with diverse research activities and has many years of experience working in livestock industries prior to moving into academia. Stuart has a particular interest in student development and has mentored numerous students participating in international experience programs. As an advisor he has guided UNE student teams to global success in the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) Conference Student Case Study Competition on multiple occasions.

Stuart’s research interests are primarily in the area of agricultural economics. They include the application of economic principles and models to agricultural industries; impact assessment and the distribution of benefits and costs among industry participants; price formation in food and fibre markets; livestock production economics; food security and food waste, value chain analysis; wine economics.
