SIFE UNE has been diligently working on their three projects that will be competing at this years national competition.
Sustaining SportUNE
Here at SIFE UNE we saw that Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU) had the potential to devastate many sporting groups within our community; groups who rely on funds from the university as their main source of financial support. "Sustaining Sport UNE" is a project designed to promote the growth and diversity of these organisations within Armidale. The skills and support that each sporting committee needs in order to create a financially viable organisation can be cultivated by offering workshops and seminars. Through skill development we can create a self-sustainable knowledge base to benefit both existing and prospective clubs. In this way SIFE UNE can facilitate the growth and sustainability of existing sporting groups, contributing to the diversity of sporting opportunities available, which is essential for the health and well-being of the wider community.
Graduate Aware Project
The GradAware project has two core aims. First, to develop channels of
communication between UNE students and regional employers. Secondly to build the employability skills of UNE students to make it easier for them to get jobs and cheaper for employers to hire and train them.
Look out for the EBL Career Board next to LT1 in the Faculty. Don't forget the EBL Employer Seminars and BBQs. Register on the UNE CareerHub Website, and don't forget to pick up a copy of the EBL Career Guide, which is currently in draft form.
If you are a student or an employer looking to get involved in the project send us an email here, or give us a call on 6773 5117.

Markets project
This project is 16 months old. It aims to promote and potentially sell the unique products sold at the monthly Armidale markets on a cooperative website. It will be promoted through the Armidale Information center and Armidale Tourism.
SIFE also conduct seminars in Accounting, Marketing and Information Technology to assist the stallholders in the growth of their business, and learn how to manage and make their business more successfully.
