Enrolment Variation Policy
Enrolment variation
An enrolment variation (EV) is any change to the university’s records of your personal details or your course details after you have completed your annual Registration Form.
Application process
You must contact the Student Centre.
Externals: Send an email, fax or letter quoting your student ID and course to your faculty.
Internals: Collect a form from the Student Centre.
Do NOT contact your lecturer. Once your application arrives, it will be processed on the single university-wide database. Please do not assume that your lecturer will process an EV on your behalf or assume that s/he will pass this on.
The university does not accept telephoned changes to your enrolment details. This is to ensure that a physical record (as required by law) is kept.

The enrolment deadlines for units are given in the UNE Hanbook and in ther following Faculty publications produced annually: Undergraduate Handbook, Postgraduate Handbook and Internal Enrolment Guide.

Number of variations permitted
There is no limit to changes of personal details or the number of withdrawals from units. However, you are allowed just two applications each semester to enrol into new units – the number of units contained in each of these two applications is a maximum of four (4) units. If you exceed this limit then your EV request may be declined or, if allowed, you may incur a charge (see below).
Fees
There are no fees to vary your personal details or to withdraw from units.
If, as an external, you wish to sit your examinations overseas then there is a charge for the additiona l costs of the overseas examination centre (contact the Student Centre). If you exceed the limit of EVs (see above), the university reserves the right to impose an administrative fee. Any fee will be charged to your account automatically. The fee will be announced annually and will be waived in some circumstances (for example, fixing of enrolment processing errors, changes to degree courses, etc).
