Introduction |
The Scott Williams Scholarships for student residents within Duval, Earle Page, Drummond and Smith, Austin, Robb and Mary White College will be awarded annually in June to residents who are enrolled in any of the following areas of study and who intend to graduate with majors that are: Business-related, Agribusiness-related or IT-related. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are financially disadvantaged and specifically where this Scholarship will assist them. The Scholarship will require the student to demonstrate their potential business entrepreneurial initiatives, skills and ideas, demonstrate leadership potential (School and University) and be actively involved in College and/or community activities. The Donor of these scholarships is keen to support students who display self-motivation, entrepreneurial initiative, career focus and a balanced approach to academic studies, whilst also making a positive contribution to the community. |

Eligibility |
1. Applicants must be returning residents of one of the following colleges. Duval, Earle Page, Drummond and Smith, Austin, Robb and Mary White College, who have been residents for at least two consecutive semesters prior to commencement of the Scholarship. There will be two Scholarship provided in each College. In the event of a lack of qualified applicants in one college, in any given year, the Selection Panel will consider offering the remaining Scholarship in the other college. In the event of an insufficient number of applicants in either of preferred colleges in any given year, the Scholarships will be re-advertised in other colleges. 2. Scholars will reside in College for the duration of the Scholarship 3. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Evidence of working to support studies is highly regarded. 4. Applicants may be enrolled in single degree courses or in double degree courses which include a Business, Agribusiness or IT base degree. 5. These Scholarships are annual though there is nothing to prevent a recipient in one year from applying again in a subsequent year. 6. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or permanent residents as defined by the Commonwealth. |

Selection Criteria |
Applicants are required to demonstrate the following: Financial need, successful academic studies in the areas of Business, Agribusiness or Information Technology, entrepreneurial initiative and experience and/or clear evidence of working in order to pay for tertiary studies, leadership within the College, broader community or Secondary School and involvement in college or community life. |

Payment to the Successful Applicant |
Scholars will be funded for two consecutive semesters. The Award can be made payable directly into the recipient's Residential fees account in two equal instalments i.e. in August & March. The payment of second Instalment is subject to continued demonstrated satisfactory performance over the previous Semester. |

Application Requirements |
The competition for scholarships is very high and there are a number of important points to keep in mind when preparing your application: Please include the following as part of your application: 1. The completed Application Form 2. A Statement of Benefit which details how this Scholarship would assist/support your studies at UNE 3. Your Curriculum Vitae 4. The Selection Criteria (addressed separately) 5. A certified Financial Statement from an accountant indicating your financial need 6. Two personal references (sent directly to the College Head by the due date) which demonstrate your entrepreneurial experience, self-motivation etc. Presentation is very important. Ensure that you sell yourself adequately and positively. |

Administration of the Scholarship |
The administration of these Scholarships will be the responsibility of the Head of Residences. The Selection Panel will consist of one representative from each College. Payments will be made from the UNE Foundation in conjunction with Students Services. The Scholars will be recognised at the UNE Scholarship Presentation each year. The Donor will meet with the Scholars three times per year. |
