The UNE Teaching and Nursing Equity Scholarship
If you are from the country and applying for admission to a course in Teaching or Nursing at The University of New England , you have a chance of being awarded this scholarship.
Offers will be conditional on the applicant meeting all eligibility requirements upon enrolment (see The UNE Teaching and Nursing Equity Scholarship Terms and Conditions).
Value: $6,000 per year for three years (indexed for the CPI)

Applications open: Mid July
Closing date: 30 September 2011
Eligibility:
- open to students completing Year 12 and gap year students
- the applicant must be able to demonstrate financial disadvantage
- a UAI of at least 75 or an ATAR of at least 77.10 (or equivalent)
- residents of regional or remote areas
- applying for admission to a Teaching or Nursing course.
Selection is based on:
- academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance during the HSC or equivalent
- involvement and leadership in school and community activities
- commitment to the proposed course
- financial need
- Principal’s assessment
- a statement outlining how you would use the funds and special reasons for being awarded the scholarship.
