Max Schroder UNE Scholarship
If you are an Australia Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander, from a rural area, commencing or continuing student, you have a chance of being awarded this scholarship.
Offers will be conditional on the applicant meeting all eligibility requirements. (see Max Schroder UNE Scholarship Terms and Conditions).
Value: $6,000 per annum
Number: 4 (two teaching and two any other discipline)
Duration: Duration of degree (maximum of 4 year)
Applications open: November 2011
Closing date: 31st January 2012
Eligibility:
- open to Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students who qualify for admission to an undergraduate degree at the University of New England
- come from a rural area
- demonstrate financial need and
- make regular contact with the Oorala Aboriginal Centre at UNE
Selection is based on:
- academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance during the HSC or equivalent
- involvement and leadership in school and community activities
- commitment to the proposed course
- a letter from an authorised person that comments on the applicant’s financial circumstances
- statement describing how they would benefit from a scholarship
