Max Schroder UNE Scholarship

If you are an Australia Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander, from a rural area, commencing or continuing student, you have a chance of being awarded this scholarship.

Offers will be conditional on the applicant meeting all eligibility requirements. (see Max Schroder UNE  Scholarship Terms and Conditions).

Value: $6,000 per annum

 Number: 4 (two teaching and two any other discipline)

 Duration: Duration of degree (maximum of 4 year)

 Applications open: November 2011

 Closing date: 31st January 2012

Eligibility:

  • open to Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students who qualify for admission to an undergraduate degree at the University of New England
  • come from a rural area
  • demonstrate financial need and
  • make regular contact with the Oorala Aboriginal Centre at UNE

Selection is based on:

  • academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance during the HSC or equivalent
  • involvement and leadership in school and community activities
  • commitment to the proposed course
  • a letter from an authorised person that comments on the applicant’s financial circumstances
  • statement describing how they would benefit from a scholarship
