Hyman Scholarship for Rural Medicine
If you have high academic achievements and have applied, via UAC or QTAC, for admission to the Bachelor of Medicine at UNE and have been involved in leadership positions in school, clubs or the community, you have a chance of being awarded this scholarship.
Offers will be conditional on the applicant meeting all eligibility requirements upon enrolment (see Hyman Scholarship for Rural Medicine Terms and Conditions)
Value: $10,000 per annum for five years

Closing Date Last Friday in September - (Not 2009)
Eligibility:
- open to students completing Year 12 and gap year students
- a UAI of at least 93.8 (or equivalent) for applicants educated in metropolitan areas or;
- a UAI of at least 90.6 (or equivalent) for applicants educated in rural, regional or remote areas
Selection is based on:
- academic merit as indicated by the applicant’s performance in the NSW HSC or equivalent
- involvement and leadership in school and community activities
- commitment to the proposed Bachelor of Medicine course and to rural medicine
- Principal’s assessment
