NSW Department of Education and Communities National Partnerships Program Scholarship

The Department of Education and Communities (New England Region) is offering UNE Education students in their third or fourth year of study the opportunity to apply for one of several scholarships to students who have completed a practicum in a New England Region public school, which is participating in the National Partnerships Low SES initiative. The money is to assist with the costs of completing the professional placement which must have been of four weeks duration.

Scholarship Value: up to $1,000 each

Conditions for the Scholarship:

  • The school must be receiving Low SES funding. Please see the list of participating schools below.
  • Applicants must have successfully completed the professional placement over at least 4 weeks duration during 2012 and have been prepared to take part in the virtual synchronous supervision of professional experience (VSSPE).
  • For those successful candidates the scholarship will be paid following the submission of the practicum report.

How to Apply:

  • The application must include a postal address, email address and contact telephone number, and should be emailed to Kaye Lewis, Principal Education Officer, at kaye.lewis@det.nsw.edu.au
  • The application should be no more than 2 pages in length and should outline why they would benefit from financial assistance and what commitment they have to working in rural and remote areas in the future.
