Anatomy by Dissection
The School of Rural Medicine offers postgraduate study in Anatomy by Dissection which provides education and training in anatomy by dissection to medical and dental graduates. The course consists of fully integrated study using online technologies such as DVD, CD, Virtual Libraries prior to an intensive 14 day course of cadaver dissection.

Inter-Professional Postgraduate Courses
Inter-professional postgraduate courses are available to medical graduates through the School of Health. These courses aim to meet the needs of health professionals who wish to further their education from a broader perspective.

Higher Degrees
The School of Rural Medicine offers PhD and Masters by research degrees. These awards offer many opportunities for postgraduate research studies in rural health, health service management, medical education, public health and associated disciplines. The School is in the process of developing national and international links and staff are involved in research collaboration in SE Asia.
The School of Rural Medicine will collaborate with UNE's School of Health involving joint supervision of Australian and international students in the DHSM and PhD and Masters program.

Two recent projects involving staff from School of Rural Medicine and School of Health at UNE have been recognised:
1. A four year collaboration with the University in Rural Thailand (Naresuan University) in health service management and medical education has resulted in the establishment of the National Centre of Expertise on Hospital and Health Service Management at Naresuan University. UNE is a key partner in this project, which is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO). (http://www.une.edu.au/news/archives/000915.html)
2. Professor John Fraser has developed an education model to increase public health capacity of rural health professionals. This innovative educational model was recently recognized by publication in a special issue of Education for Health, the WHO affiliated journal on the integration of public health with clinical medicine.
