Bachelor of Medical Science Honours
The Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) is a separate program offered over one year of full-time study within the Joint Medical Program. It is designed to provide students with training in research, scientific method and in the verbal and written communication of research/scientific results. The degree consists of a one year program of supervised research in clinical or basic science disciplines associated with the Bachelor of Medicine Program, subject to the availability of adequate supervision. Projects in the discipline of Medical Education will also be considered. The degree is comparable to the additional year taken by candidates in an Honours degree.
Students wishing to apply for this degree must have passed courses totalling at least 240 units in the Bachelor of Medicine. Applications using the attached form must be approved by the Head of School – School of Rural Medicine and the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of the Professions (or nominee) PRIOR TO SEEKING ADMISSION.
