Practical Experience Requirements

The Bachelor of Rural Science has as part of its requirements 24 weeks practical experience to be completed during candidature and the Bachelor of Agriculture students 16 weeks practical experience. The purpose of "Practical Experience" is to provide students with opportunities to examine how properties and agriculturally orientated businesses are managed, identify the factors that limit production, develop skills in the assessment of management and relate components of the curriculum to agricultural practice. The development of manual skills - though important - is secondary.

The PE regulations and PE forms associated with practical experience can be downloaded.

Further details and negotiation of unusual situations should be referred to the Chair of the Practical Experience Committee Associate Professor G N Hinch (02 6773 2202, ghinch@une.edu.au , Fax 02 6773 3922 - in the Woolshed Building). Claim forms and records are administered by Mrs Wendy Hyde in the Faculty of the Sciences office (02 6773 2662, whyde@une.edu.au, Fax 02 6773 3376).
