 Policy for Smoke Free Environment

"DRAFT - 2000"

 

The University is committed to complying with the Smoke Free Environment Act 2000.

Accordingly, smoking is not permitted in any UNE vehicle, building (including the Bistro) or any area which will allow smoke to enter any building through windows, doors or air ducts.

All advertisements and contracts for staff positions, student enrolments, conferences and seminars, private contractors and lessees will contain a statement that the University of New England has a policy for a smoke free environment.

Signage to indicate the Smoke Free Environment status of buildings will be installed as appropriate.

Non-compliance will be referred to the relevant manager/supervisor, or in the case of a student, the academic supervisor in the first instance.
